Silvadew Technologies and Accra Technical University: Bridging Education and Industry Through Digital Skills
A Strategic Partnership for the Future of Digital Education and Workforce Development
Accra Technical University (ATU) and Silvadew Technologies have established a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening digital skills development, professional training and graduate employability in Ghana.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 20 July 2026 at Accra Technical University. Under the agreement, Silvadew Technologies is working with ATU to provide students with access to practical, industry-focused short courses, professional certification opportunities and digital learning through the Silvadew E-University platform.
The partnership represents an effort to strengthen the connection between academic education and the practical skills increasingly required by employers.
According to ATU, the collaboration is intended to provide students with industry-focused digital training, globally recognized professional certifications and improved employment opportunities. The programs are designed to complement students’ academic studies with practical capabilities that can be applied in the workplace.
From Academic Knowledge to Practical Skills
Higher education provides students with important theoretical and academic foundations. However, the changing nature of technology and the workplace means that graduates increasingly need opportunities to develop practical and professional skills alongside their academic qualifications.
The Silvadew–ATU initiative is designed around this principle.
Through the partnership, students can access short professional programs covering areas of digital and emerging technology. These include areas such as:

At the September 2026 launch of the initiative, Silvadew Technologies demonstrated the platform to ATU students, including how learners can access programs, select courses and track their progress.
This digital approach is intended to provide greater flexibility for students who may need to balance university studies with professional development.
It also creates a foundation for expanding digital learning beyond a traditional classroom environment.
Supporting Graduate Employability

At the launch of the initiative, ATU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Engr. Amevi Acakpovi encouraged students to complement their academic qualifications with professional and entrepreneurial skills, noting the importance of continuous skills development as technology and workplace requirements change.

Launching the Digital Skills Initiative
Following the signing of the MoU, the partnership moved from agreement to implementation with the official launch of the ATU–Silvadew Digital Skills Initiative on 3 September 2026 at the University’s Lecture Theatre Auditorium.
The launch brought together ATU leadership, university officials, students and industry stakeholders.
During the event, Silvadew Technologies presented its online learning platform and explained how students could access professional programs and develop individual learning pathways.
ATU officials also encouraged students to take advantage of professional certification and technology-training opportunities available through the initiative.

Building Future-Ready Talent in Ghana
